Gluten Free in Paris

In April 2026 I went on a short trip to Paris, and one of my main objectives was to go to as many gluten free eateries as I could fit into my days there!

Paris is home to many wonderful fully gluten free bakeries, patisseries and restaurants, and below you will find my recommendations!

Copains is a fully gluten free bakery chain and they are located all around Paris! They serve bread, pastries, cookies, sandwiches, coffees, and more, both savoury and sweet. I went to several of the shops, they all stock the same delicious goodies and have a unique layout for a bakery; to get your pastries you go around with the server who has a tray to put all of your chosen goodies on.

My purchases included:

  • Doughnuts

  • Croissant - almond and pistachio

  • Cinnamon rolls

  • Pain au raisin

  • Olive bread

  • Sandwiches

My favourites from these was the olive bread and the doughnut. The olive bread was light, salty, and delicious, it also lasted a few days, which was good as it is quite large and I couldn’t eat it all at once as I had all of the other pastries too! The doughnut was a classical doughnut with a raspberry filling (there were other variations to choose from). I am such a fan of a classic doughnut, as it reminds me of childhood and before I was gluten free! The doughnut was amazing, from the dough to the filling, and I would definitely buy again!

The sandwich choice is really varied, from simple flavours and fillings to something a bit more sophisticated, I chose the vegan veggie option which was delicious and ate it later at the Gardens of Versailles!

I loved Copains, it contained the perfect bite to eat for anytime of day and the fact that there are so many of the shops all across Paris made it really easy for me and any other gluten free person to treat themselves to a delicious sweet or savoury snack! The staff were also super friendly and on two occasions I was given a free tote bag for all my purchases!

Noglu is a 100% gluten free bakery and having previously been some years before, and I remembered that I had really enjoyed their pastries, in particular the doughnut! This trip I purchased a cinnamon roll, pain a raisin, and doughnut and they were all delicious.

There are a few location around Paris, and if you are in the mood for a sweet treat this is the place to go!

Another gluten free bakery worth checking out is Chambelland. They are well known from their selection of gluten free breads and also their wide range of pastries and baked goods. Located in Paris (as well as Brussels and Luxenburg) their cafes are well designed and inviting.

I treated myself to a strawberry eclair, some bread and some sweet bread, and a latte. The eclair was delicious and light, and paired nicely with my latte.

For lunch on my first day in Paris I really wanted a traditional gallete, and so from a quick Google I discovered Breizh Cafe, a chain restaurant with location around France known for its buckwheat gallete and sweet crepes. I chose from the traditional gallete section, a ham, fried egg and cheese buckwheat gallete, and it did not disappoint!

If you are looking for a fantastic gluten free crepe or gallete Breizh Cafe is certainly the place to go!

Tasca is a fully gluten free Italian restaurant and located near to the Eiffel Tower. It was my second time visiting, having been years before, and I was excited to go again!

The restaurant was full of tables of gluten free people, excited over the extensive menu of gluten free pizzas, pastas, and desserts. I had the bolognaise, my favourite Italian dish, and it did not disappoint! I also treated myself to tiramisu for dessert and it was deliciously creamy and decadent.

Cococo was one of my highlights of my trip, a small cafe that served gluten free, lactose free Japanese Bentos! I had never had a bento box before and so I was super excited to try one. The menu had a range of options and styles of bento boxes and I chose the Coconut Formula: Bento and Soup.

It was delicious; my plate consisted of rice, salad, pickled vegetables, fried chicken, and miso soup. I was so happy to have discovered this little gem, and when I am next in Paris I will definitely be going back!

One of my favourite cuisines is Vietnamese, and so for dinner one evening I ate at Un Jour a Hanoi, located in the 14th arrondissement.

I ate beef pho, summer rolls, and shrimp coated in crispy green rice. Everything tasted amazing and I would recommend if you are after some good Vietnamese food!

Hando (Hando Marais)

Having eaten a lot of sweet treats and pastries, I was in the mood for some good sushi and so having gone online I found Hando. This restaurant specialises in handrolls, making delicious, responsibly fished sushi.

To place your food order you fill out a form, choosing from a variety of roll options, and then your food is prepared and served! All of the food we ate was superb so good that I forgot to take photos! Although this is not a gluten free restaurant, the severs were very helpful with pointing out the gluten free options on the menu, and they also provided gluten free soy sauce.
