In December, I visited one of my favourite European cities, Amsterdam, where I explored the city’s best gluten-free eateries!

This blog details where I ate and my recommendations for people looking for delicious gluten-free food while in Amsterdam.

Craft Amsterdam

https://www.craft-amsterdam.nl

Craft Amsterdam is a 100% gluten-free bakery that offers an amazing array of gluten-free pastries, bread, cakes, and cookies! It opens at 10 a.m., and be sure to get there early as there is almost always a queue. I arrived 10 minutes early, and there were already a few people waiting outside!

Walking into the bakery, I was overwhelmed by the variety of gluten-free foods available! I was so excited to try everything, and I basically did! I got an assortment of croissants, some bread rolls, pistachio cakes, and a muffin.

Omg, they were all SO yummy!!!

My favourites were the almond croissant and the cinnamon muffin, which were both so light and delicious!

This is a must-visit for anyone who is gluten-free!

Pancakes Amsterdam

Pancakes Amsterdam is a chain restaurant that serves Dutch pancakes, and they have a whole gluten-free menu! I am a huge pancake fan, and this place did not disappoint!

I had a savoury ham and cheese pancake, which was amazing! The pancakes are large, filling, and reasonably priced.

If you fancy a gluten-free Dutch pancake, this is the place to go!

Croque Madame

Croque Madame is a fully gluten-free bistro located in the centre of Amsterdam. It serves a variety of lunch foods like sandwiches, burgers, and cakes.

I had the vegan sandwich that I really enjoyed. The bread was a gluten-free baguette, which was super delicious, and the fillings were very tasty!

Perfect for a quick gluten-free lunch or a takeaway sandwich!

Lou Lou Pizza

I had dinner with friends at this pizzeria, and their gluten-free pizza was delicious! This is not a fully gluten-free restaurant, but almost all of the pizzas on their menu can be made gluten-free.

The gluten-free crust was soft and had a slight rise to it, and the toppings tasted fresh—so overall, very yummy! Many of the salads were also gluten-free and super tasty!

Foodhallen Amsterdam

Foodhallen Amsterdam is a great place to go for lunch, dinner, drinks, or a snack. With loads of different cuisines and stalls, there is plenty of choice, even for those who are gluten-free!

I love this place because it not only has delicious food but also has a great ambience and vibe!

This time, I went for Mexican food at Fento, which has many great gluten-free options. I had vegetarian nachos, and they were amazing and very filling!!!

Supermarkets

Of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to Amsterdam for me without stocking up on gluten-free stroopwafels!!!!

I am obsessed with gluten-free stroopwafels and always make sure to buy as many packets as possible so that I can enjoy them for as long as I can!

Albert Heijn and Dirk are two supermarkets where I have bought them before, and their gluten-free stroopwafels did not disappoint!
